LSERSA website 2023

Have been talking about building a booking & payment system for LSERSA for their weekly training sessions.

As a first step I wanted to get their website changed over to something a little more manageable. It's been hand-written (and manually deployed over FTP) since forever, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense when so much of it is there to present structured data.

Originally I was thinking that I would use Eleventy (which is now my absolute favourite) but with a booking system I'd much prefer to be using React to write the UI, so instead it's built using Gatsby.

The basic website re-write is now completed and deployed via Netlify — will take a little longer to get the booking system written, hoping/planning to have that finished by the end of the month ...

Cat Status Tracker

Some people spend their Christmas break relaxing; I spent (some of) it making a status-tracker for Riley.

Status tracker for the floofus

This is a mostly-silly little webpage, built using Next.js with a Deta Base no-SQL document store (I hesitate to call it a database, it's so minimal) and hosted on Vercel.

(The one things about it that's not silly is I'm going to use it to keep track of when her various treatments / "spot-ons" are due — yes I could use a calendar, but where's the fun in that?).

Pleased to say that we have a new member of the household — introducing Riley.

She's the first pet that we've had as a family; the first pet ever for everyone other than me; and the first time I've ever had a cat. Interesting times ...
