Technical Sophistication

I've been tinkering recently with several things and came across the concept of technical sophistication, thanks to Michael Hartl and the LearnEnough series that he's involved with. Michael's theory of technical sophistication is that it's a combination of hard skills (being able to use the command line and text editors, knowing how to code in one or more languages and so on) together with having a particular attitude and soft skills – in essence, the ability to find just enough information to be able to solve most problems, without needing to go into depth about how or why they're solving the problem.

Now finding myself wishing there was a way of instilling technical sophistication in the wife!
